RULES AND REGULATIONS

17TH ANNUAL BAY FISHING TOURNAMENT

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2022

FISHING HOURS: 6:30 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M.

WEIGH-IN: 1:00 TO 3:00 P.M. AT COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT BAR LOUIE

AWARDS DINNER: 3:00 P.M. AT COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT BAR LOUIE

 

IMPORTANT: Boat Captains or a team representative must pick up a tournament packet at the Captain's Party at Courtyard by Marriott Bar Louie South Padre Island on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 5 P.M, containing a copy of the tournament rules and regulations. A check-it stick will be issued with the registration tournament package.  Each boat will be required to sign an acknowledgment of receipt and approval of the published rules and regulations.

CAPTAIN'S PARTY: Captain's Party will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott Bar Louie South Padre Island.  Tournament participants are strongly encouraged to attend the Captain's Party - rules and regulations for tournament will be reviewed and discussed.

TOURNAMENT RULES

This is a Catch and Release Bay fishing tournament.  Entry fee is $400 per team (up to 4 anglers per team) postmarked by September 23, 2022.  Late entry (after September 24) is $425 per team.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: SpawGlass clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and their employees.   All anglers must have a Texas Fishing License unless exempt.  ALL State & Federal regulations apply.

  2. Up to 4 anglers per team.  Only those registered in the tournament can be on a participating team.

  3. All fish must be caught by rod and reel only.

  4. Fishing will begin at 6:30 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022.  Fishermen may launch their boats from anywhere they choose.

  5. Anglers must submit their results (via "Fishing Chaos" App) no earlier than 1:00p.m. 

  6. THIS IS A NO-KILL TOURNAMENT; NO FISH WILL BE PHYSICALLY TURNED IN.

  7. Stringer for the entry consists of 1 Redfish, 1 Trout, and 1 Flounder for the team; fish do no have to be within the legal slot to measure and photograph.

  8. $1,000 cash prize will be given to the top three individuals (1st place) will be given weighing in the Longest Redfish, Longest Trout and Longest Flounder for each division.  THE SAME FISH CANNOT BE USED IN MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY.

  9. $2,000 Grand Champion cash prize will be awarded to the boat who weighs in (1) Longest Redfish, (1) Longest Trout and (1) Longest Flounder.  THE SAME FISH CANNOT BE USED IN MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY.

  10. Fish will be measured on the tournament provided Check-It Stick, photographed with participant wristband, and documented via "Fishing Chaos" App. You are permitted to pinch the tail when measuring to photograph. Measurements will be rounded down to the nearest quarter. 

  11. In the event of a division measurement tie, first submission time will prevail.   The official time will be kept by the Tournament Staff.  Decisions of the Tournament Director are final.

  12. Only one fishing guide per boat.

 

Wildcard

  • The MOST SPOTS on a Redfish will be awarded to one winner for a $500 gift card.  In the event of a tie, above rules for tie breaker will apply.
